Maui cruise port guide

Kahului is Maui’s primary cruise dock. Lahaina is a historically separate harbour identity — reserved, not merged, and not an active cruise programme on this site.

Kahului — primary cruise port

Ships calling Maui for a standard cruise day typically use Kahului Harbor on the north shore. It is a docked call — still leave buffer for pier logistics and the drive to scenic or cultural stops.

When official berth detail is supported by source data, we may cite pier labels. Until then we do not invent pier assignments or publish placeholder ship rows.

Kahului is not Lahaina

Lahaina sits on Maui’s west side and was historically a separate cruise call (often tender / anchorage). It is not interchangeable with Kahului for pickup, timing, or schedule identity. This site plans for Kahului only.

Lahaina’s cruise programme is not currently active as a standard publish target here. We keep Lahaina as a reserved future port identity in architecture — never folded into Kahului schedules or public Lahaina schedule pages.

Versus “Maui” marketing blur

“Maui” is the island and customer destination. The schedule port is Kahului. Brochures that mash every Maui harbour into one day often ignore drive times and separate ship histories. Road to Hana and Haleakalā sunset are long or timing-critical — not ordinary short-day defaults.

What to do with your hours

Solid day calls suit Coastline and Cultural Highlights or Private Tropics. Shorter windows favour Private Best Highlights or sail and snorkel. Nine-hour Hana Discovery is long-stay / overnight only. Use Find my cruise to match duration before you enquire.
